Your First Appointment

The first appointment is an intake appointment is scheduled with the caregivers and clinician only - your child won't attend this first session. This intake allows caregivers to see the play area and facilities where we will be working with your child.

This intake will last about an hour and our main focus will be to discuss primary concerns and treatment goals. Be prepared to discuss symptoms, developmental milestones, family history, educational history, medical history, current medications, previous testing/treatment, etc.

At the end of our intake session, we'll schedule your child for their first therapy appointment to begin addressing your concerns.

Payments & Insurance

While you can always pay for our services directly (i.e. self-pay), many people choose to use their insurance benefits to help cover the cost of therapy sessions. We'll discuss your specific options with you before scheduling your first appointment but we also want to share some important information here in order to help you plan accordingly.

We always advise new clients to contact their insurance provider to discuss their mental health benefits.

How Much Will Therapy Cost?

Your specific cost will be determined by a couple of factors.

If you are using insurance benefits, your insurance company will determine your cost based on your plan, including any required co-pay, co-insurance, and/or deductibles.

If you are not using insurance benefits, your self-pay rate will be determined by your individual therapist. Please consult with them directly to determine your cost.

Accepted Insurance*

  • Aetna
  • BCBS
  • Carolina Behavioral Health Alliance (CBHA)
  • Cigna
  • Medcost
  • United Healthcare

If you have insurance through another provider, you may be eligible for reimbursement for out-of-network benefits. Contact your provider for details. You will be responsible for your therapists full fee at the time of service.

*Our individual providers may not accept all of plans or companies listed above. Please confirm with your therapist about which companies they currently work with.

How Do I Make a Payment?

Whether using insurance benefits or self-pay, any required payments (e.g. full fee, co-payments, etc) are due at the time of service. You can make payments in cash, check, debit cards, and most major credit cards (e.g. Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express).
